The Circle Newsletter v1, i1 IN THIS ISSUE: Feature Article: RTI Premieres & FREE Inner Circle PDF Novel FEATURE ARTICLE Well...not exactly. The RTI debuted at the end of August, but I was meticulously carving out an aggressive plan since then to share this interactive world with as many willing eyes and ears around the world as possible. But the difficult thing was, visitors who weren't familiar with The Relic Triangle Trilogy could be confused...unless there was some sort of instructions. Everything you get today comes with a free set of instructions. Why couldn't this? But instead of actual instructions, The Inner Circle PDF novel itself could act as the directions and captivate our imaginations at the same time! So... ***************************************************************** It just makes sense! The elements inside the pages of The Inner Circle
are the very foundation for almost every element inside WHAT'S NEW AT THE RTI Once upon a time, "The Circle" was its own section in the
RTI website. Now, it has wholly evolved into the NEW official RTI Inside the RTI website, "The Circle" has been replaced with a new section called the "Reliquary". This is a staging area for every new interactive portion that debuts at the Relic Triangle Interactive (RTI). I am excited to officially unveil The Dragonroot Cantina as the first debut in its series (see below for a detailed overview). The Kublata Alphabet Wheel and Movie Poster are set to open on its heels. All in all, 15 new interactive sections are slated to appear in the future, including the much anticipated Virtual Realm! Link: http://www.relictriangle.com/reliquary.html The Dragonroot Cantina Opens! Words will sear across the cantina floorboards, but always embracing that fantasy flavor. Enchanting LIVE music plays with a deep, dark cantina spirit as Tab Siclaw plays tunes just for you! Hear the Ode to Haspin, Googlabans Fifth Melody, and The Vidas Interlude. More tunes will be coming in the months to come! Thirsty? Your very own waitress, Oolah, who never forgets a face, will bring virtual drinks of your choice to you. Choose from the magical Pearl Drop, the soothing P'Yunta Coffee, or the addictive house special, Dragonroot Ale! More exotic drinks will be added to the menu every month! If you love the Dragonroot Cantina's drinks, get one for a friend and have them join you in the cantina by selecting "For A Friend". Whoever you choose will receive an e-mail asking them to join you in the pits of the cantina. Get ready for a festive evening! Unfortunately, the cantina is not always open. They are planned events
so everyone can take part. If you go to the Dragonroot Cantina at this
moment, you will see a post from Boon Padal, the curator, announcing
when the cantina will be open next - you Link: http://www.relictriangle.com/reliquary.html ARTICLE Since most of you have had time to delve into the Relic Triangle Interactive a bit, I want to explain this "interactive" thing a little more because many questions have been brought up to the actual "interactiveness" (if that's a word) of the site currently. The goal isn't for this to be just a game, or just a book...it's intention is to be both! The novel will sets up the theme, which will introduce you to many terms, places, and characters. The peripherals in the website, like the "Maps" and "Glossary", will season your knowledge. And the interactive portion, such as the Dragonroot Cantina (see "What's New" below), will enrich the storyline and your experience, making you crave for more! What I hope to have happen is everyone learn, then experience, then interact together, and finally teach others. Looking off into the future, a Virtual Realm (a stock-trading game
using wind pods and other trade futures from the trilogy), ARTICLE Would you like to drive more visitors to your own website? Sure you would! For those you who might be unfamiliar with this inscription, it runs vertically up the spine of the front cover of The Inner Circle PDF novel. It is encrypted in a language used by the Kublatas, the caretakers of the Eldan timeline. On February 1, 2001, the Kublata Alphabet Wheel will premiere and the code will lastly be revealed. This new section, designed in Flash, will expose the meaning behind each of the mysterious symbols of the haunting Kublatas. Know it well, for it may aid you in future events at the RTI. A FLASH plug-in will be required, so download it now if you don't have it! Castle Marrach (castemarrach.com), a fantasy fan's pleasure haven, shows us what a website should be...different! This website doesn't just inform...it entertains. Its function doesn't impede...it nourishes curiosity. Its appearance is never too serious...it simply drips FANTASY! The sign-in process alone will have you swinging your air sword in front of your computer! Most websites give you a snoozing form for you to fill out...I want to be this, more of this, less of that...checkbox here, checkbox there. But as you enter the castle on the first page, a clever story immediately unfurls that offers small bits of intrigue every step of the way. At the bottom, a single question is posed to you about who you want to be. In the meantime, the convincing artwork has fully loaded above and the dark, moody impact is completely enveloping! You repeat this page after captivating page until every facet of who you want to be, down to the style, length, and color of your hair, has been captured. Fans of fantasy love to be entertained and they certainly will be here! Among the peripherals, the maps section is tidy and informative, but could use a little more stylish flare like the compelling artwork that is dashed throughout does. The tutorial is somewhat helpful, but cannot overtake the value of the "just getting out there and doing it" will give you. The "Player Scenes" can be a little cliché; almost "Foolish Words", to borrow the title of one of the scenes. Waxy shreds of prose like, "Forgive me, Your Highness." and "Can't have that, can we?" make for dreary reading and an eye roll or two. Other lines, almost minstrel in their voice, beg to be sung, like "Forbade, forebode, forgive, forborne. Does no one have a bone for the poor fool?" But my only real gripe was the sidebar, which definitely detracts in style and function. Can't this just vanish? All in all, this well thought-out marquee of a website is a joy to explore. The artwork, although sparse, is fresh, and full of style. It never strays too far away from what it claims to be...a text-intensive RPG website. Or, its real purpose...to enhance your own imagination. But the real testament to the quality of the Castle Marrach lies with its fans. To be in its infancy and have so much excitement and support for it while only in its beta stage trumpets how special it really is, or can be. It could be a glorious journey.
