Website Review - DRAGONSWORN

I love going to websites where the splash page gets you hyped to click that "Enter" button and see what's inside. The fantasy website called Dragonsworn does this really well. Adorned on the structured cornucopia is a sultry woman icon that hangs inside. On closer inspection, you can even see a skull draped in front of her. I don't understand the icons, but am I supposed to?

The inside style careens between snowboard and vampire worship…real nice! And everything is extremely organized. You gotta like when you can find the stuff you want and you can get out of there without windows flying up at you (I know… I'm guilty of that), lots of banner ads, and waiting a day for things to load even with DSL pumping pages into your browser.
This site strong in it's fantasy fiction material is still in its infancy, but looks like it's been left for dead. Why is it when I find websites I like, the creators don't tend to them? I realize people get distracted and dejected when things don't go well, but stick with them.

My favorite part is the bottom navigation bar. Just when you think you've gone through everything, you scroll down a little further and you see this other navigation panel with more buttons. It's like finding a prize at the bottom of the cereal box – you eat all the cereal and now you have this toy! When you start following the links, more of the same cool stuff we all love (although outdated) flows onto the discussion boards where most of the action is, and these are just as well organized as everything else. It's not overly flashy, but very well laid-out and NEAT! One small plea… get rid of that awful mailbox graphic on the webmail login page… PLEASE! Every other piece of the website looks so professional; I bet that graphic was the absolute last piece. I know because I've done it! I say in my head, "It's the last thing and I'm tired of this website. Just stick some clip art in there and I'm done."
.
This site has great potential, but the wings of the dragon need to start flapping and get off that virtual ground it's stuck on!
